West Lake is great for a slow stroll, with lots of small spots that are easy to miss. The Broken Bridge area is crowded, but other parts are quiet. The scenic area is big and worth exploring.

Introduction

West Lake is renowned for its tranquil waters, surrounding green hills, exquisite gardens, and historical relics. West Lake and its surrounding area are home to numerous scenic spots, such as the Broken Bridge, Su Causeway, Leifeng Pagoda, Three Pools Mirroring the Moon, and more.

Classic Route

The route starting from Broken Bridge Residual Snow, passing through White Causeway, Quyuan Garden with Wind-ruffled Lotus, Su Causeway, and ending at Leifeng Pagoda is a very popular tourist trail around the West Lake. The entire route is approximately 6.5 kilometers long. If you choose to walk the entire distance and make occasional stops to enjoy the scenery, it is estimated to take around 3 to 4 hours.

Moreover, along the route, there are electric sightseeing vehicles available for riding; punted boats are a specialty of West Lake, allowing you to enjoy a boat ride on the lake while sipping Longjing tea; there are also large tour boats, which can take you to visit the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon.
